“I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet, but I’m hoping I get to teach guitar and songwriting,” Bice told PopEater.
Bice said he will use his four-year experience managing a Birmingham, Ala.-area guitar store when stepping in front of students at ‘Idol Camp,’ which runs in two-week segments running June 15 through Aug. 23 in San Bernardino.
Season Two finalist Kimberly Caldwell, Season Four finalist Anthony Federov and Season Five finalist Ace Young have committed to mentoring camp kids as well.
Meanwhile, Bice recently self-released his latest album ‘See the Light’ exclusively to Wal-Mart stores. The Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman makes a guest appearance on the album. The two met when they worked on a project for the ‘Blades of Glory’ soundtrack.
“It was a labor of love for me,” Bice said about ‘See the Light.’ “I produced 90 percent of it at my studio. It was really a fun project to work on. I got to write the songs I wanted. I could be home and be a dad if I wanted, and then go and play rock star.”
